Increase in Autism diagnosis may be the result of the change in criteria used to diagnose Autism

A new study has found that the increased prevalance in the incidence of Autism is the result of changes in the way Autism is being diagnosed.  The study found that that the current DSM-IV criteria has increased the identification of ASD in high functioning individuals and individuals with autism and intellectual impairment.  http://www.disabilityscoop.com/2012/06/29/autism-surge-analysis/15957/
